Dear Friends,

Waiting…that can be the toughest thing to do at times. While on deputation we have waited in traffic backups that stretched for miles, waited at the airport on a delayed flight, waited in church parking lots for someone to unlock the doors. Now we find ourselves waiting, waiting, waiting…for our applications for residence visas to be approved. Our applications and passports are at the Chilean consulate in Miami and we hope to have some news soon.

Since our last prayer letter we are excited to report to have had six new churches that have begun to partner with us for the work in Chile. Our schedule has opened up a bit as we wind down the meetings and we are taking the opportunity to travel and visit family on what we call our “Goodbye Tour.” Last week we spent some time in Pennsylvania visiting with family. That is tough - saying a goodbye that will last at least for four years.

A “Passage Fund” is a fund set aside to meet the expenses brought on from an international move. Airline tickets, rent deposits, utility deposits, home school materials, language school, household goods, shipping, visas, transportation, appliances, etc. Needless to say the funds needed to move our family overseas is great. I have been looking over our finances and am amazed at how God has provided so far.

Together with what we have saved along with special gifts that have been so graciously given by some churches most of our passage fund has been met. We still have a few needs in the area of household set up, appliances, & a vehicle purchase. There is a passage fund account set up at Macedonia if you would like to have a part in meeting this need.

To God be the Glory,

The Kenney family

Report from the McBryars http://operationsantiago.com/blog/?p=10 http://operationsantiago.com/blog/?p=10#comments Tue, 07 Aug 2007 20:36:47 +0000 Jason Kenney http://operationsantiago.com/blog/?p=10 Below is a prayer letter from the McBryar family. The McBryars are on deputation raising support to work in Chile as church planters.

Dear Pastor and Praying Friends,                                                                                                           August 2007

A Tremendous Month:

The month of July was a tremendous month for deputation. The churches visited this month were such a blessing to our family in so many ways. Whether mission conference or a one service meeting, God’s people truly stepped up to the plate and met our needs above and beyond what we could even imagine! Psalm 103:1-2 “Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:” Thank you churches for your kindness and love to us!

Chile Facts:

The government in the country of

Chile is considered to be quite secure and stable. This is good for missionaries going into the country, but there are other things to consider. Even without looking too closely, one can see that the majority of

Chile
lies in spiritual darkness. Pretty much any religion that you can think of, you will find in this country, but we thank God that no matter the religion or the situation there is an answer for their problem! We are looking forward to taking that answer, “The Gospel of Jesus Christ” that will set the people free from spiritual bondage. We are praying now for workers in the field. Matthew “Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.”

New Churches:

Praise the Lord for the two new churches that have taken us on for monthly support. Also, I would like to thank those churches that have raised the support that they send out each month, this has been a great blessing as well. We are now at 65% of our support and thank the Lord as

Chile is looking a little closer each month.

Financial Need:

Presently, Stephanie is in need of an eye exam. The last time she had one done, it cost about $100.00. She has a problem with the retina area of her eye, so the test is a little more than normal. We are not sure if there will be any other fees, but whatever the Lord lays on your heart would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely Yours in Christ,

Chris and Stephanie McBryar

Report from the Holts http://operationsantiago.com/blog/?p=9 http://operationsantiago.com/blog/?p=9#comments Sat, 04 Aug 2007 16:59:47 +0000 Jason Kenney http://operationsantiago.com/blog/?p=9 Following is an excerpt from the Holts July newsletter. In it is a mention about the financial need about purchasing phase two of a building.  God is building a great ministry through the Holt family. For more info visit their blog at www.jasonholt.wordpress.com.

Since inaugurating the new building in April, we have seen more than 350 people visit our church through services or other activities; and over 25 have made a profession of faith.  This has all been made possible by your generous gifts!  Thank you for your investment in the ministry and in souls in

Chile.

$33,000 still needed

We have 8 months before the second and final payment is due.  God has provided nearly $9,000 already for this need.  The people in

Chile are sacrificially giving, but we need your help.  Please pray about what you can give to help with this urgent need.  If you would like to send a donation, please address it to:

Youth Congress http://operationsantiago.com/blog/?p=7 http://operationsantiago.com/blog/?p=7#comments Thu, 02 Aug 2007 13:24:45 +0000 Jason Kenney http://operationsantiago.com/blog/?p=7 The second Youth Congress in Santiago came to a close this past weekend. The Youth Congress is a few day event focused on stirring the hearts of the young people toward serving the Lord with passion. As reported from missionary Jason Holt the Lord blessed with an average attendance of 155 in the evening services representing 6 churches.

Many lives were impacted for Christ during the conference.  It is our prayer that through the ministries toward young people the Lord would call forth preachers, missionaries, and other Christian workers for His Kingdom.
